A true freshman wide receiver, Kamari Maxwell had a career-day against TSU with three catches for 65 yards and three touchdowns. His three touchdown catches matched the sixth-best single-game performance in program history and equalled the squad's best single-game mark of the season. Maxwell’s first touchdown was an eight-yard reception to give the Govs a 14-7 lead. On APSU’s next possession, Maxwell had a career-long 45-yard touchdown reception to give the Govs a 21-7 lead in the first quarter, then caught a 12-yard touchdown in the second quarter to put the Governors back up by 14 points.
