UAC Football First Season Produces Bounty of 46 All-American Honors

UACFootball -- The United Athletic Conference capped off a very successful inaugural season of FCS Football action producing 46 postseason All-America and Freshman All-America performers as announced by national organizations and publications including STATS Perform, Associated Press, American Football Coaches Association, FCS Football Central and Phil Steele/DraftScout.

The league's list of honorees included selections from all nine member programs paced by five All-American choices for UAC Champion Austin Peay. EKU offensive lineman Josiah Ezirim was the conference's lone concensus All-American after appearing on all five lists. In addition, Utah Tech wide receiver Beau Sparks, the UAC Freshman of the Year, and Stephen F. Austin defensive back Aaron Sears were both named to every Freshman All-America list.
 
The Govs five selections resulted in nine All-America honors led by three for return specialist Kam Thomas. UAC Offensive Player of the Year Mike DiLiello garnered a pair of selections as did teammate Jevon Jackson. Freshmen Travis Bates and Xavier Smith both saw their names on a Freshman All-America listing.

A trio of Colonel players garnered recognitions with Logan Blake (two honors) and Braedon Sloan joining Ezirim as honorees. Utah Tech also boasted a trio of selections as Syrus Webster and Ryan Kean both added two namings to Sparks' three giving the Trailblazers a total of seven honors.

Central Arkansas, North Alabama, Southern Utah and Stephen F. Austin each produced a pair of All-Americans. UAC Defensive Player of the Year David Walker was named to four lists and Tamuarion Wilson made one in representing the Bears. The Lions had the freshman duo of Adam Watford (two honors) and Jyheam Ingram named to Freshman All-America teams while SFA also placed a pair of freshman on postseason awards lists with Sears and Aaron Austin collecting awards. The Thunderbirds Isaiah Wooden was tabbed for two All-America lists while Zach Mitchell earned two Freshman All-America accolades.

UAC Specialist of the Year Kyle Ramsey earned four All-America honors for Abilene Christian and Tarleton State's Kayvon Britten picked a pair of honors to round out the UAC honors.

The UAC is preparing for play of its second season in 2024 with the first head-to-head conference games coming Sept. 14 when defending champ Austin Peay visits Central Arkansas and EKU hosts league newcomer West Georgia.
