CARROLLTON, Ga. -- As season 2.0 for United Athletic Conference (UAC) Football gets set to kickoff, we will preview each of the nine league members as we countdown to the opening of the 2024 campaign and the "Chase for the Crown". West Georgia, a newcomer to both the UAC and FCS play, looks to make a dynamic debut.

NOTEWORTHY
* The Wolves begin play at the NCAA Division I level following a successful 40-year tenure as Division II participants featuring nine playoff appearances and 232 all-time victories... UWG also boasted a 12-0 record en route to earning the 1982 Division III National Championship

* New Head Coach JOEL TAYLOR, the 12th head coach in UWG program history, joined the Wolves following a four-year stint as the defensive coordinator at Mercer. Taylor owns over two decades of coaching experience highlghted by service on several championship winning staffs

* West Georgia is eligible to compete for and win the UAC Conference title but due to NCAA Division Transition rules they are not eligible to participate in the FCS Playoffs until completing their four-year transitional period

* UWG's inaugural DI slate includes seven home games and four road tilts (all conference games)... The Wolves have previously faced both Central Arkansas (4-4) and North Alabama (13-22) all-time on the gridiron
