UAC FOOTBALL -- The opening week of college football proved to be a coming out party for United Athletic Conference (UAC) Football as reflected in the latest national rankings with seven of the nine teams in the league garnering votes in one of the polls.
Tarleton State jumped into the Top 5 of all the polls following their double-overtime victory at Army and a shutout of Portland State in their Week 0 clash. The Texans earned their highest FCS ranking of T-3rd in the AFCA poll, highlighted by claiming the league's first No. 1 vote. Abilene Christian was the only other squad to earn Top 25 rankings in all the polls while Austin Peay claimed ranked positions in two polls. Southern Utah was tabbed in one poll and the the trio of EKU, Central Arkansas and West Georgia all were recognized with votes.
