WEEKLY AWARDS | Winning Teams Produced Award Winners

Selections feature UNA duo and top performers for SUU & TSU

#UACFOOTBALL -- Winning has its privileges and the weekly award winners in United Athletic Conference (UAC) Football, as announced by the league office, were definitely prime examples. A pair of North Alabama standouts, Jayvian Allen (Offensive) and Noah Gregg (Freshman), were honored for helping the Lions earn their first UAC win on Saturday while  Southern Utah's Mason Stromstad (Defensive) and Tarleton State's Courtland Stephens (Specialist) also assisted their squads to key league wins en route to garnering Player of the Week accolades.

Allen, a redshirt senior running back, rushed 13 times for 98 yards (7.5 YPR) and three touchdowns in the Lions homecoming victory over rival EKU. He became the first UNA player to rush for three touchdowns in a game since 2022. Additionally, Allen recorded one catch for six yards against the Colonels.

SUU's junior linebacker, Stromstad was a huge part of the Thunderbirds' win over nationally-ranked Abilene Christian. He racked up a team-best 11 total tackles in the game, including six solo stops. Stromstad forced a fumble and secured the game-sealing interception with just under a minute to go in the game. He also collected one TFL along with a half sack in his total.

Stephens, a senior linebacker, shined on special teams for the Texans posting a blocked punt and also recovering a muffed punt fumble recovery in their homecoming victory over a ranked West Georgia squad. The blocked punt and fumble recovery were the first of Stephens' collegiate career and helped TSU remain undefeated in conference play and the season.

A redshirt freshman wide receiver, Gregg caught three passes for 28 yards and a touchdown in UNA's win against EKU. Gregg, who has four TDs in the last five games for the Lions, notched the go-ahead score in the win late in the second quarter after breaking away from two defenders with just 20 seconds left in the half.
