WEEKLY AWARDS | Repeat Winners Highlight Week 6 Honorees

Selections include UCA & TSU rookies along with APSU duo

#UACFOOTBALL -- United Athletic Conference (UAC) Football continued with its exciting brand of play in Week Six as several league tilts featured offensive fireworks and some clutch defensive efforts. On Monday, the conference office announced its list of weekly award winners and for the first time this season a pair of players became repeat honorees. Austin Peay's Chris Parson was named Offensive Player of the Week in back-to-back games, and Tarleton State's Tre Page III earned his second Freshman of the Week accolade of the season. In addition, Central Arkansas' Caleb Jones (Specialist) and the Govs' Will Middleton (Defensive) rounded out the selections. 

APSU's redshirt-sophomore quarterback, Parson led the Govs to a win over previously-undefeated, No. 16 West Georgia. with 364 yards of total offense and five total touchdowns. He was 16-for-26 passing for a career-high 346 yards and three touchdowns tosses, matching his career best. Parson averaged 21.6 yards per completion with six completions of 20-plus yards, four of 30-plus yards, and four of 40-plus yards. He also added 18 yards rushing and matched his career-high with two rushing touchdowns.

Middleton, a graduate linebacker for the Govs, ranked second Saturday with seven tackles, including four solo stops, in the key home conference victory. He paced Austin Peay and matched a career-high with 2.0 tackles for loss. Middleton capped his performance in the fourth quarter, with the Govs leading by seven, recording a 26-yard pick-six for the final score of the game to seal the win for the Governors.

A redshirt-freshman kicker for UCA, Jones had a perfect kicking day in the Bears win over Utah Tech. He was 3-for-3 on field goal attempts, including a long of 39 yards, while converting both of his PATs. Jones accounted for 11 of his squad's 23 points in the home victory.

Page III, a redshirt-freshman running back, recorded 198 rushing yards and two touchdowns on 19 carries (10.4 YPC) in Tarleton State’s home conference win over Southern Utah. It was a career-night for the Texans' standout as he set a new career-high in rushing yards plus matched his career-high in rushing touchdowns. Page's mark tied for the 10th most in a single game across the FCS this season, and was the fifth most in a single-game in FCS play this week. He was also recognized as the Stats Perform FCS National Freshman Player of the Week for his performance.
