UAC Debut Player of the Week Honors Feature Tarleton Duo, UNA and ACU Standout Performers

#UACFOOTBALL -- The United Athletic Conference announced its debut group of football Player of the Week honorees on Monday. The inaugural winners included the Tarleton duo of Patrick Jones (Defensive), Adrian Guzman (Special Teams) along with North Alabama's Takairee Kenebrew (Offensive) and Abilene Christian's Xavier Wishert (Freshman).

Kenebrew, a senior wide receiver, scored three touchdowns in the first 16 minutes of a 41-27 win over Chattanooga on Saturday, which marked perhaps the biggest win of UNA's six years at the FCS level. He finished with five catches for 172 yards and three scores, marking a personal career-high for single game touchdown receptions and program FCS-era record. His yardage total marked the most yards receiving in the opening weekend nationally.

A senior defensive back, Jones paced the Texans winning defensive effort with seven tackles against McNeese. He also collected a 71-yard pick-six, marking the longest interception return for a TD in the FCS on opening weekend.

Guzman, Tarleton's junior kicker/punter, successfully converted all eight of his kicks going 7-for-7 on extra points and connecting on a 41-yard field goal. He averaged 39.3 yards (118 yards) for his three punts including a long of 45 yards and one pinned inside the 20-yard line.

In his collegiate debut, Wishert carried the ball 10 times for 58 yards (5.8 avg.) and notched a pair of scoring runs from 2-yards and 18-yards.
