UACFOOTBALL -- Looking to build on an extremely successful opening week, United Athletic Conference (UAC) Football sends out all nine teams for the second consecutive week of competition.
NOTEWORTHY
- Week Two's ledger features four squads making their home debuts in 2025 with Abilene Christian, Central Arkansas, EKU and Tarleton State playing hosts on Saturday... The slate includes one contest against an FBS foe along with three games versus ranked FCS opponents
- In the two prominent FCS National Rankings, the UAC saw seven different squads earn votes with three teams landing in one of both of the Top 25 lists... Tarleton State earned the highest ranking for the UAC and their program with a T-3rd (AFCA) and 5th (StatsPerform)... Abilene Christian (16th/StatsPerform, 17th/AFCA) and Southern Utah (24th/StatsPerform) were the other ranked teams while Austin Peay, Central Arkansas, EKU and West Georgia garnered votes
- Glancing back to Week One, UAC teams boasted the first and only FCS vs FBS victories of the new season as Tarleton topped Army 30-27 in 2OT while Austin Peay handed in-state rival MTSU a 34-14 loss... In addition, West Georgia kicked off a second straight season with a victory over Samford (34-3) and Southern Utah nearly doubled-up Idaho State, 46-24
- Tarleton State (StatsPerform) and Austin Peay (NCAA FCS) were both named National Team of the Week for their opening week performances
- Coming off an FBS win,
Austin Peay (1-0) gets things rolling with an afternoon tilt "Between the Hedges" in Athens, Ga., against No. 4-ranked Georgia (FBS), while
Utah Tech (0-1) faces its second consecutive ranked foe in No. 19 Northern Arizona
- Five games will kickoff around the league at 6 PM CT led by

West Georgia (1-0) rounds out the time slot on the road at No. 22/25 Nicholls State

No. 16/17 Abilene Christian (0-1) hosts longtime rival No. 23/25 Stephen F. Austin in the Wildcats first home game as defending UAC Champions...
No. 24 Southern Utah (1-0) heads to the West Coast for a late night match-up against San Diego to wrap up play on Saturday night
- For a third consecutive season the UAC had a member squad compete in Week 0 on national television as No. 8/10 Tarleton State blanked Portland State, 42-0, on ESPN2. The win marked the first shutout performance for an FCS team in Week 0 history... The league owns a 2-2 mark in Week 0 play
- Heading into the 2025 season, UAC lineups include a trio of players listed on national award watch lists with Tarleton State QB Victor Gabalis named to the Walter Payton Award list along with a pair of defensive standouts, Lando Brown of Southern Utah and Abilene Christian's Will Shaffer, part of the Buck Buchanan Award list... Gabalis (Offensive) and Shaffer (Defensive) were tabbed the preseason Player of the Year choices by the conference coaches.
- In its brief three-year history, UAC Football has already produced
THREE FCS over FBS wins: TSU over Army, 30-27 2OT and APSU defeated MTSU, 34-14 this season | SUU topped UTEP, 27-24 OT in 2024... Additionally, the UAC boasts a win over a ranked non-conference FCS foe (EKU defeated #16 SEMO, 41-38, in 2023)... The league also owns a pair of FCS Playoff wins in 2024
