#UACFOOTBALL -- United Athletic Conference Football wrapped another stellar week of performances with the league office announcing its award winners on Monday. The West Georgia duo of Simon Zeidan (Specialist) and TJ Lester (Freshman) joined Central Arkansas' Luther Richesson (Offensive) along with Southern Utah's Sebastian Adamski (Defensive) as the Players of the the Week.
Richesson, UCA's junior quarterback, accounted for four touchdowns in the Bears' home opening victory over in-state foe UAPB. He was 18-of-25 passing for 283 yards and tallied three touchdown passes. Richesson also shined on the ground finishing with 82 yards on 11 carries (7.5 yards per rush) and a rushing score.
A redshirt senior linebacker,Adamski matched the UAC season-best with 12 total tackles including nine solo stops. He contributed two significant tackles for a loss in the game and helped the T-Birds mount a fourth quarter rally on the road to force overtime.
A freshman kicker for the Wolves, Ziedan went 2-for-2 on field goals, connecting on kicks from 39 and 46 yards while also being a 4-for-4 on PAT attempts. He accounted for 10 points in UWG's upset win over a ranked Nicholls State team. In his kickoff duties, Ziedan racked up six touchbacks on seven kickoffs while averaging 64.3 yards per kick.
Lester, a true freshman running back from Milton, Ga., rushed 14 times for 47 yards (3.4 per carry). He finished with two touchdowns in the Wolves' 34-10 road win over #22 Nicholls.
