The United Athletic Conference (UAC) announced its revised eight-game football schedule for the 2024 campaign. The competition slate features four home games and four road games in a full round-robin format for each of the league's nine member institutions.
The revised schedule was a product of flexible and open-minded work by the league administration and member institution's leadership in response to the late and unexpected departure decision by a former member. The focus of the revised slate centered on accomodating expressed protected dates from each institution, maintaining the balanced eight-game conference format (4 Home /4 Road), attempting to keep similar location sequencing from the previous schedule and mitigating as many travel plan disruptions as possible.
Following an inaugural season in 2023 highlighted by high-powered offenses, tightly-contested weekly match-ups and a chase for a championship trophy and FCS playoff bid that carried on until the final game, UAC Football is primed for another exciting upcoming season in 2024.
Week One of college football in 2024 kicks off on Saturday, Aug. 31, with UAC head-to-head competition slated to begin Saturday, Sept. 7, as league newcomer West Georgia visits Abilene Christian for UAC Opening Day. A rematch of the 2023 AQ-deciding season finale between Austin Peay and Central Arkansas highlights the slate on Sept. 14.
The month of November is filled with UAC battles, as only two non-conference game are listed on the docket, and the FCS regular season wraps up Nov. 23. FCS Playoff action begins Nov. 30 with the National Championship game scheduled for Jan. 6 in Fresno, Texas.
UAC Football is a combined partnership group between the scholarship football-playing members of both the Atlantic Sun Conference (ASUN) and Western Athletic Conference (WAC). It began with the ASUN-WAC Challenge (or AQ7) in 2021 and continued in 2022 before the official organization of the UAC for the 2023 season. Featuring an automatic qualifier (AQ) into the FCS playoff each of the past three years, the UAC enters its second year of official competition with nine participating institutions: Abilene Christian University, Austin Peay State University, University of Central Arkansas, Eastern Kentucky University, University of North Alabama, Southern Utah University, Tarleton State University, Utah Tech University and new addition, University of West Georgia, who officially joined the UAC (Football) and ASUN (All other sports) on July 1, 2024.
The UAC is currently building the 2025 schedule which continues with an eight-game slate and future schedules are also being constructed as part of the multi-year conference agreement.
